Frankfurt has moved far toward universal free childcare, but registration pressure in central districts and ongoing staff shortages still make daily life hard for working parents. Central coordination runs through Kindernet Frankfurt. You register your child, rank preferred locations, and submit waitlist requests. Individual Kita directors then review the lists and send contract offers directly.
